We've already touched on the introduction of the Red Viper this season €“ one of the shows coolest new characters €“ and here he is in the trailer again, fighting the beast that is the Mountain. We've not seen a whole lot of the Mountain really, he's more of a fringe, 'boogey-man' character, but we'll at least get to see him in action this season, doing what he does best: being monstrously big and fighting. On a side note, the role has been recast for a third time since the show first aired, with the Mountain (or Ser Gregor Clegane), now being played by acting debutant Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson. The 6 ft 9 Icelander is a strongman competitor, placing third in 2012 and 2013 at the World's Strongest Man contest. As a result, he looks goddamned terrifying. Getting back to the fight, both characters are particularly renowned for their martial prowess, so it should make for one hell-of-a throw down. I won't say much more about it, spoilers and all that, except that this is one of those 'official' duels, like the one in Season 1 when Bronn fought on behalf of the accused Tyrion. As such, this fight will not only have significance from a combat eye-candy perspective, it will also hold weight over the political and literal futures of several other characters, not just those in the fight itself.
