Game Of Thrones Season 5: 10 Most Intriguing Castings So Far
3. Nell Tiger Free As Princess Myrcella Baratheon
Playing a key role in season five, Princess Myrcella Baratheon has undergone a recasting, with Aimee Richardson being replaced by Nell Tiger Free. Quite why she has been recast nobody knows, but the new actress to take the role resembles Lena Headey more closely than her predecessor, and the books state that Myrcella looks a lot like her mother. A large chunk of season five will revolve around Myrcellas plight in Dorne and so an adequate child actor is required to portray the multitude of horrors that befall the child princess. Game of Thrones has a strong track record with casting impressive child actors - just look at Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams as Sansa and Arya Stark respectively, and then look at Jack Gleeson too - so its pretty much a given that Nell is capable. Its not as though she has big boots to fill either; nobody will really remember the previous Myrcella as she bore little importance in the first two seasons.
