Game Of Thrones: Top 10 Action Scenes

10. Jorah Mormont, Daario Naharis, & Grey Worm Vs. The Guards At Yunkai

Episode: The Rains of Castamere The Rains of Castamere is such a harrowing hour of television that this brilliantly staged action sequence almost always gets overlooked in the grand scheme of things. In an episode overshadowed by the infamous Red Wedding, writers David Benioff & D.B. Weiss and director David Nutter drop in a brilliant skirmish that is almost like the Essosi version of "The Three Musketeers". In suggesting the infiltration of the city of Yunkai, Daario Naharis had a lot to prove to his new queen, both when it comes to strategy and his own often quite pompous claims about his skill in battle. Together with Jorah Mormont and Grey Worm, he ends up engaging the entire garrison of Yunkai within a matter of moments. The three of them hold their ground quite effectively, despite Jorah and Daario's rocky relationship, and pave the way for yet another victory for the Mother of Dragons. What makes this sequence really brilliant is how it merges the three fighting styles of Jorah, Daario, and Grey Worm without feelingly clunky or forced. Their choreography overlaps and complements each other in a brilliant feat of staging and editing.
