Games Of Thrones Season 7 Finale: What 'The Dragon And The Wolf' Really Means

1. Tormund And Beric MAY Be Dead

The very worst thing about this episode - which became somewhat obvious immediately after the end of Beyond The Wall - was the revelation that both Tormund and Beric were stationed at Eastwatch in order to give the fall of the Wall some more emotional impact than if it simply fell on its own.

Watching the heroes trying to escape the tumbling wall was among the most tense sequences in this entire show, and while they weren't explicitly shown dying on screen, there's definitely a sense that we're SUPPOSED to believe they died.

In reality - hopefully - they both survived (if you watch a few times, it seems they make it to the part of the Wall that doesn't crumble away to nothing), and we'll see them head to Castle Black with what remains of the Wildling army to unite with the Night's Watch for an assault on the white army from the rear in season 8.

But until that confirmation comes, we have to face the chance that that was the end of the show's greatest character and one of its most interesting supporting figures. And honestly, I am not ready to lose Tormund. Ever. Both he and Beric deserve more than that sort of death, and hopefully, the fact that we didn't see it happen means they aren't dead yet.
