9. No More Thoros Revivals

As a direct consequence not only of the appearance of the polar bears and The Hound still being way too scared of fire, the legendary warrior priest Thoros Of Myr is no more.

His death - from a combination of chest biting and freezing overnight after the group are stranded on the island - was a tragedy (not least because it robs the show of one of the low-key best characters) and seeing Beric's reaction to his friend's passing was very touching.

More importantly, it means Beric has no means to come back from the dead: that he is on his final life (and, come to that, so is everyone else in the group who might have been able to be revived) and has to find out what the Lord Of Light intended for him pretty soon.

There is an alternative, of course, but you have to seriously wonder how realistic Melisandre being welcomed back into the fray would be. Or whether she'd actually be able to manage another resurrection anyway, given that she basically bodged Jon's...
