Gangs Of London: 8 Issues That Hold It Back From Greatness

1. The Finale Was Disappointing

The final episode was definitely the worst of the run and it's no surprise that it's the lowest-rated episode of the series on IMDb.

It was far too convoluted, it lacked any memorable action, it never really felt like a climax and Sean Wallace's death might've subverted expectations, but it was still a mistake. It feels like there's much more to be done with the character yet.

The finale also introduced the Investors, the mysterious big bad behind everything, and this too was misjudged. The introduction of a big, omnipotent conspiracy overseeing everything was cliched as hell, OTT and could easily lead to the show just becoming another run-of-the-mill crime drama in its second series.

This final episode did leave a lot to be desired, but nevertheless, Gangs of London has been overall good so far and has a huge amount of potential. Hopefully, when it returns for its second series, some of the flaws from the first one will have been ironed out.
