Now we come to Rick Grimes. We all know what he's like in the TV series. He's a natural-born leader regardless of the mistakes he has made, and everything he does can be justified by his genuine aim of protecting his family. He's got a similar mindset in the comics, with a few minor changes that look highly unlikely to happen in the show now. First of all, he loses a hand. Gone. No coming back. Robert Kirkman told the press at the time of the first season that Rick would be keeping his hand, and now the possibility of a U-turn is unlikely as the man behind the removal is dead - The Governor. Rick also had a relationship with Andrea who, of course, isn't around any longer. There are some definite differentiations, but with Kirkman heavily involved in both productions, fans of both platforms have no need to worry.
