Glee: 5 Reasons It Has Jumped The Shark And Should Be Cancelled

2. The Music & Tribute Episodes

Glee Spice Girls Glee can still produce a pretty great musical number, don€™t get me wrong. But this season instead of doing what Glee€™s done in the past and choosing to properly blend old and new songs, instead choosing to rely on mostly current music. Now, I may be alone in this, but what Glee used to do best was pick out its songs and used them in concurrence with its characters, however this season it has chosen god awful songs, (Call Me Maybe, anyone) to make its point. Furthermore, instead of utilizing most of the people they have, they choose to repeat something Glee faced a lot of criticism for, using only select few people and not letting everyone have star potential. Instead we get Wade and Marley, a.k.a Rachel and Hummel 2.0 and Rachel and Kurt a.k.a. the first 3 seasons of Glee and everyone else basically sits and waits for a solo. And the tribute episodes this season, especially Brittney 2.0 probably are better off forgotten, trying to interject some humor and culture into the show and shockingly, only being offensive. Plus the musical numbers have slowly declined in parallel's to who they give them to. Let's face it, look me dead in the face and tell me that one longtime Glee fan wasn't angry when instead of giving Wannabe to the original New D, they choose to wait 4 seasons and award them to carbon copies. The songs are also woefully out of place. Some of the songs like "Creep" and "The Scientist" can be spot on but then you get random songs and episodes dedicated to complete messes that make no sense. Period. Here's looking at you every episode after 4.09.
