13. Take My Breath Away
(Prom-asaurus, Season Three) As the senior prom arrives, Quinn is still using her wheelchair after her car accident and has recruited Finn to help her get the Prom Queen tiara, once and for all. However, Rachel is none too pleased about this and their old rivalry flares up. However, Santana and Quinn are in charge of counting the votes and realise that the title wouldn't make either of any happier. They decide to rig the votes and make Rachel's dreams come true. They crown her and Finn Prom royalty and dedicate this song to them. It is an amazingly cathartic moment for Rachel, not as a performer, but just as a teenager girl who has always felt like an outsider. Quinn also gets her moment in the sun when she regains her leg power and stands up during the performance.
12. Mean
(Props, Season Three) A wonderful duet between Puck and Bieste, two lost soul who were both faced with massive dilemmas; Puck concerning his graduation and the reappearance of his father, and Shannon about the continuation of her abuisve marriage. Oddly this aylor Swift meolody is rather compelling and Mark Sailling's voice does it much needed justice. Shannon isn't the most fanstic voice, but it doesn't take away from the bonding moment.
11. Edge of Glory
(Nationals, Season Three) The opening performance for Nationals in Chicago, led by Santana and Mercedes, with solos from Quinn and Tina. A slick, swift and sexy choreography which looks even more impressive due to some clever camera shots. Santana and Mercedes' powerhouse voices kill it as usual, but it was also more interesting to have a change of pace with the addition of Quinn's and Tina's softer vocals.
10. It's All Coming Back to Me Now
(Nationals, Season Three) As Nationals gets underway, the New Directions send out their secret weapon: Rachel Berry. What's more: Rachel Berry meets Celine Dion number. She brings the roof down despite her disappointment doesn't appear to have accepted her invitation to watch her perform. However, just as she is about to hit the last jaw-dropping not, Ms Tibideaux appears from the shadows, spurning Rachel to finish with all she's got. The captivating performance is kind of Rachel's swan song as he leader of the New Directions and, for all we knew back then, the whole show possibly.
9. Paradise By the Dashboard Light
(Nationals, Season Three) The group performance for Nationals begins with Meatloaf's classic. It is a very intricate affair and includes the largest number of New Directioners in any one performance, vocally and physically. It is easily the best group performance by the New Directions. The, already theatrical song is even more enhanced by the show choir arrangement, complete with a SMILE and a WHISTLE from Carmen Tibideaux. Guess whose getting into NYADA now? The song also important in that it shows a marked improvement in Finn's dancing and singing. Whilst the more talented performers pull it out the bag as usual, it is also satisfying to have followed a character over three seasons to see the ultimate pay-off of their hard work.
