Glee: 50 Most Memorable Performances So Far

8. Glory Days

Puck_interpretando_Glory_Days (1) (Goodbye, Season Three) It only seems right that Puck takes to his guitar after the amount of toil and trouble it took him to graduate with his fellow students. The song manages to be both nostalgic and hopeful for the future, as the audience watches the seniors take their certificates.

7. Roots Before Branches

052312_glee_season_finale_featured120523145428.000 (Goodbye, Season Three) Another heartbreaking, gut-wrenching solo from Rachel as Finn decides to 'let her go' and fulfill her New York dreams without him. It is a song so true to Rachel's character that it kind of sounds like it was written for her. Here is the moment where she finally grows up and let's go of her schoolgirl fantasy of living happily ever after with Finn. Her goals are revitalised as she heads to the East Coast to begin her journey ahead to the Broadway stage.

6. New York State of Mind

Newyorkstateofmind (1) (The New Rachel, Season Four) As the fourth season kicks off there is a lot of emphasis on established a 'new Rachel' to lead the glee club. Such a person arrives in the form of sweet, friendly new sophomore, Marley Rose. Meanwhile, in New York, Rachel is not experiencing the college bliss she expected, especially not in her dance classes. However, once she is in the Round Room (like a bigger choir room) for Carmen Tibideaux's class, she reminds us all how she clawed her way into NYADA in the first place. Her performance is augmented by Marley's glee audition. The introduction of a new, country-sounding voice is a nice twist to hear along with Rachel' comforting, well-known theatre tone.

5. Crazy / (You Drive Me) Crazy

(Britney 2.0, Season Four) Marley has established herself in the New Directions now and is developing an attraction to Puck's secret half-brother, Jake Puckerman. At this point he isn't sold on the Glee sell but his impromptu mash-up on the bleachers with Marley may change that. The two new characters have instant chemistry which is reminiscent of earlier couples such as Finchel. Jake also has a strong male lead voice.

4. Teenage Dream

(The Break-Up, Season Four) Blaine and Finn arrive in New York City at the same time to surprise their significant others, only Blaine is withholding a dreaful secret During a night out at a local NYADA hang-out, Blaine reprises the first ever song he sang to Kurt, Katy Perry's, Teenage Dream. However, it is a scaled back, acoustic version which, to be frank, is really intense and becomes quite uncomfortable to watch, However, it does show off Darren's range, which usually stays strictly pop. Of course Kurt notices Blaine's odd behaviour and soon comes Blaine's awful confession of his infidelity. And next, on to the top three Glee performances so far...

Hey, I'm Deneo, I'm from Edinburgh, Scotland, in the UK, and have recently graduated from university as a student of sociology and culture. Over the course of my uni degree, I have become interested in socio-cultural discussion of just about anything and enjoy trying to apply it to pop culture topics, such as tv, film and music.
