Gotham: 10 Best Batman Villains Not Yet Used On The Show

2. The Crime Doctor

Not a villain in the strictest sense of the word, Matthew Thorne, AKA The Crime Doctor, is instead a fallen medical professional who has a complex (to say the least) relationship with his brother: crime boss Rupert Thorne.

After becoming disgraced in his field, The Crime Doctor was forced to make his living by tending to the wounds of Gotham's worst criminals, like a villainous version of Marvel's The Night Nurse. In Batman: The Animated Series, the character is revealed to also have had a relationship with Bruce Wayne's father Thomas, and this sets up one of the saddest and most powerful moments in that particular series.

FOX's Gotham has been partially focused on Bruce Wayne's search for answers into his parents' premature demise. Therefore, an appearance by The Crime Doctor could add an additional layer into this story arc. It could also beautifully deepen the theme of how thin the line is between hero and villain.

He loves fish tacos and misses the work of Heath Ledger and Jack Lemmon on a daily basis.
