Gotham: 10 Future Villains We Want To See

1. Jonathan Crane

As much as Cillian Murphy did a great job with Scarecrow in Christopher Nolan's trilogy, the fear-loving doctor ultimately got the short end of the stick when it came to truly exploring what he can do. With so much untapped live-action potential and a host of sources to draw inspiration from in what can be done with him, whether it be from the comics, the various animated shows or Batman: Arkham Asylum, the inclusion of a young, experimental Dr. Crane could make for some truly nightmarish television. Crane's a character who could be introduced when Arkham reopens as an unassuming member of its staff and slowly fleshed out over the course of the series as his experiments grow increasingly more dangerous, the doctor more deranged and his efforts pushed beyond the walls of Arkham. And considering his Scarecrow persona is part of who he is long before Batman arrives on the scene, the show wouldn't have to completely tease towards his future, allowing him to embrace who he is and give viewers a healthy dose of fear. As with most shows, Gotham's finding its footing and going through its freshman growing pains as it carves out its own identity. With so many paths for it to take and characters to explore, many fans surely have their own villainous origins they're hoping to see. This list is just the tip of the iceberg, so feel free to share below how you think these or any of Batman's other rogues could be brought into series!
