Not that the odds are hopelessly stacked against James Gordon. Fighting in his corner, at least initially, will be the hotshot District Attorney Harvey Dent, who will suffer some great personal tragedy (and possibly have acid thrown at his handsome mug, but only one side of it) and transform into the villainous, chance-obsessed Two-Face. This is another piece of confirmed info for the upcoming episodes of Gotham, even more official that the appearance of Hugo Strange - Dent's been cast and everything, with Master Of Sex's Nicholas D'Agosto stepping into the role last played in live action by Aaron Eckhart in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight. The addition of Dent to the roster makes sense. The show has been cribbing Nolan's style since the beginning, mixing it (with varying degrees of success) with some comic book flourishes and just a hint of the camp sixties Batman TV series. Bringing in another character that's destined to turn to the dark side might seem trite, but having somebody who's so committed to the right side of the law - and enforcing it legally - will make everything seem a bit less overwhelming for Gordon. It'll also add some gravitas to the inevitable transformation of Dent into Two-Face, if he and the Man Who Would Be Commissioner get as close on Gotham as it seems they may.
