Gotham: 10 Villains That Should Appear In Season 4

8. Hush

It's been a while since we've last seen Tommy Elliot, with the character having only made one appearance in Gotham thus far, as a bully at Bruce's school.

Those who are clued up on the Elliot of the comics will know that he's a tad psychotic and that, unlike Bruce, he actually harbours a huge disliking towards his own parents. In Paul Dini's Heart of Hush, it's revealed that Elliot sabotaged the brakes on his father's car. His abusive dad was killed instantly, but his mother was rescued by Thomas Wayne, something that - in Tommy's Mind - was simply unforgivable; hence the whole 'masked vendetta against the Waynes' thing.

Because Gotham has so often opted to adapt some of Batman's most famous rogues, the show has failed to really acknowledge the lesser-known characters that would best serve its own interpretation of the mythos. Tommy Elliot's origin fits neatly into the story of a young Bruce Wayne navigating the world, and yet here we are in the series' fourth season with only one appearance to the character's name.

Bruce may be growing up as quickly as his villains, but there's still plenty of time for the show to introduce a truly organic sub-plot in its fourth season. Hush should be that story.
