Gotham: 10 Ways To Introduce Batman's Greatest Villains
9. Maxie Zeus
Maxie Zeus is a character who can be easily integrated into a pre-Batman continuity without ruffling too many fanboy feathers. Being one of the lesser known Batman foes, he could be used in Gotham in a comparable way to the Smallville approach of having a character appear in something approximating their fully realised form. What is up for debate is whether or not the series would explore the more heightened and fantastical aspects of the character? Or portray him more as a delusional maniac with an intense Messiah/Greek God complex? With Zeus there is also the opportunity to take a completely different angle, whilst also drawing on a previous comic book incarnation. Zeus was once depicted as owning a casino named "Maxie's". Taking inspiration from this portrayal would seem like an ideal fit for Gotham, and would still allow for the corrupt casino boss to later lose his marbles, and begin to believe in his own divinity and omnipotence.
As well as the odd article, I apply my "special mind" to scriptwriting for Comics, Films and Games... Oh and I cut down trees, I skip and jump, I like to press wild flow'rs, I put on women's clothing, and hang around in bars.
