Gotham: 10 Ways To Introduce Batman's Greatest Villains

10. Bane

As is the problem with many of these characters it just doesn't make sense for Bruce Wayne to encounter Bane in any form before his fully established Batman career. If Bane is to be used though, it should be in a way which doesn't contradict his anonymity and stays true to the comics. There is a similar and greater problem with introducing the Joker, but this hasn't stopped the makers stating that he will show up in the future. Perhaps the most satisfying way in which Bane could feature would be solely as a background detail. This would be particularly effective if it was via news reports of corruption and child imprisonment in a Santa Prisca's Peña Dura prison? If the character was to be employed as more than a background reference, then a good way to do it would be to involve a version of the Venom drug into the plot. There's nothing to say Bruce would have to encounter Bane . The storyline could involve an underworld scheme to flood Gotham with Venom smuggled in from Santa Prisca. Perhaps The Penguin could travel to Santa Prisca to make the deal? There he is given a demonstration of the drug's effectiveness by being shown the results it has on a teenage test subject, procured from Peña Dura.
