Gotham: 10 Ways To Introduce Batman's Greatest Villains
6. Killer Croc
Killer Croc's existing back-story wouldn't have to be altered too radically in order to fit in with the world of Gotham that has been previewed so far. Raised by his abusive aunt, Waylon Jones suffers from a rare atavistic skin condition, which gives him the appearance of being covered in hard, reptilian-like scales. Given that this is Croc in his early form, his condition could be subtle at this point, in-keeping with the realistic aesthetic Gotham appears to be aiming for. His aunt's constant taunting of "Lizard Boy" and "abomination" eventually pushes Jones too far, and he begins his descent into villainy by killing her. Gordon and Bullock are the homicide detectives attached to the case, and their investigations eventually leads them down into Gotham's sprawling network of sewers. It is here that they find a (metaphorically) transformed Jones, who has exiled himself and moved one step closer to becoming the monstrous criminal he is destined to be.
As well as the odd article, I apply my "special mind" to scriptwriting for Comics, Films and Games... Oh and I cut down trees, I skip and jump, I like to press wild flow'rs, I put on women's clothing, and hang around in bars.
