Gotham: 10 Dream Choices To Play The Joker

1. Ezra Miller

Though Wakefield's performance in The Purge was a strong claim to this top spot, Ezra Miller gets the final nod thanks to an even more startlingly creepy performance. In We Need To Talk About Kevin, Miller was incredibly difficult to watch, at the same time as being utterly irresistible. He seemed the walking embodiment of evil, a perverse realisation of every mother's worst fears and his cold detachment and despicable sadistic nature made that performance immediately brilliant. And even better, he was oddly charismatic, in the way that all great villains are: even in his most heinous of actions, the audience were left to marvel that he could be so extreme, and so calm about the likely repercussions. Miller fits the bill as the unhinged enforcer type that we're likely to see the Joker re-imagined as, he is just about nondescript enough the blend into the pack, and his evil would come as a shock, and he is practically bursting with the creepy factor that will be the casting team's highest priority for bringing the right hints of the Joker to screen.
