One of the best storylines to involve Poison Ivy in the comics is her ongoing, semi-implied relationship with Harley Quinn. It's never been made explicit if the pair have romantic feelings or anything, but they "team up" for a lot of criminal capers, and fan fiction writers fill in the blanks. Good old fan fiction. That's not a union we expect to see any time soon in Gotham because, well, Ivy's about ten years old, and that's super gross. We also don't expect to see Harley Quinn around any time soon - for reasons which will soon become obvious - but she's already getting shouts outs during the Gotham premiere! Sort of. Depends how you read it, really. In the comics (and, again, she was originally introduced in Batman: The Animated Series) Dr Harleen Quinzell - okay, so Gotham doesn't have a monopoly on stupid alter egos - was the psychologist assigned to the Joker at Arkham Asylum, who ended up falling for the Clown Prince Of Crime and becoming his number two. Which necessitated her taking up a costume, which was originally a red-and-black jester-style one piece and has since devolved into a sort of corset-based lingerie get up. Something which we glimpse dancers at Fish Mooney's club wearing as they practice in the background of a scene where she talks to Bullock and Gordon.
