That said, whilst Gotham may be keeping its feet firmly on the ground, that doesn't mean we won't be completely deprived of supervillainy. Just that the villains in question won't have reached the "super" part yet. Along with getting a peek at the formative years of Jim Gordon and Bruce Wayne, seeing how they became the iconic characters we know and love, we can look forward to younger - but not necessarily more innocent - depictions of The Penguin, Catwoman and The Riddler. In this case, Oswald Cobblepot is a minion to one of the crime families in Gotham, and has yet to adopt either his nickname or his flock of rocket-launcher wielding arctic animals; Selina Kyle is a streetwise teenage orphan (which is probably better than her appearance in Year One); and Edward Nygma, most intriguingly, is a forensic scientist who works within the GCPD, but does have a particular way of speaking...
