Just like Stephanie Meyers paper shredder, the Galavans are looking to tear s*** up in Gotham and this influx of antagonists is going to leave the good guys severely outnumbered. Michael Chiklis (protagonist of The Shield, steamroller of Jax Teller and The Thing in what is still the best Fantastic Four film) is the man who will provide some much needed manpower to the GCPD. Chiklis, who looks a lot like Ross Kemps scarier older brother, will be a series regular in Season 2, playing the part of Captain Nathaniel Barnes. Barnes is a man on a mission, determined to destroy the dead wood of Gothams police force, leading him to become both a hero and a mentor to the like-minded Jim Gordon. Chiklis shoulders are certainly wide enough to be able to bolster the weight of a decaying police department. Anyone who has seen Chiklis as Vic Mackey in the stellar The Shield will attest that he can effortlessly portray a force of nature, cloaked in the shape of a bald man. All he needs is a stove and a naked flame and the villains of Gotham will be running home, tail entrenched firmly between their legs and calling out for their mothers. Who they probably murdered.
