Gotham Season 2: 10 Things That Must Happen

5. The Return Of Fish Mooney

One of the biggest surprises in the first season of Gotham was just how good Jada Pinkett-Smith was as main baddie Fish Mooney. Relishing the chance to play a role as outlandish as her name, Pinkett-Smith chewed every piece of scenery she could get her hands on, a larger-than-life villain in a show that took a while to catch up with her. Mooney was the exact right tone Gotham was struggling to discover throughout its first season, as it circled around gritty crime drama whilst simultaneously having an episode centred on a vigilante who takes out criminals by tying balloons to them. As of the season finale, however, it looks like Jada Pinkett-Smith is out of the picture. Whether she's actually gone for good or not remains to be seen, and it would obviously be rather uninspired for Fish Mooney and Oswald Cobblepot to just trade control of the city back and forth every season, but one last hurrah for Pinkett-Smith most delightful of surprising villains certainly wouldn't go amiss for the second go around of Gotham.
