Gotham Season 2: 10 Things That Must Happen

4. Lots More Harvey Dent

If Gotham actually commits to the prequel angle, it could be something really special. Whilst it facilitated the tragic fall of Two-Face in its third act, the corruption of District Attorney Harvey Dent in The Dark Knight was sort of a shame. Aaron Eckhart did such a good job, and the character was so compelling, throwing him away seemed a waste. Nicholas D'Agosto isn't quite Eckhart, but he's done a decent job as Dent in Gotham thus far. As one of the few non-corrupt lawyers in Gotham City, he's provided a similar trusted associate to Jim Gordon as he did in the film. But he was somewhat underused in the first season, appearing in just three episodes. Those did enough to cement parts of his character €“ his morality, his dogged pursuit of justice, his flipping of coins €“ that could and should be explored further. Getting to see Dent as a good guy for longer, and maybe having his €œtransformation€ into Two-Face be a gradual rather than sudden and traumatic one, would be genuinely innovative.
