Green Arrow And The Canaries: 7 Things That Must Happen
2. The Laurel/Dinah Friendship Is Strengthened
The budding friendship between Dinah Laurel Lance and Dinah Drake on Arrow was something of an unexpected one. While the former took issue with the fact that Dinah had become her Earth-1 doppelganger's successor as Team Arrow's Black Canary, the latter soon developed a blood feud against Laurel when she had been coerced into killing the newcomer's love Vigilante. However, when the former Black Siren found redemption, she also ended up finding forgiveness.
Following that, the pair developed a love/hate relationship whereby they ended up working incredibly well together without ever admitting it to each other. Eventually, this developed into friendship and, upon learning of their future from Mia (as the two lieutenants of The Canaries), they attempted to make that future a reality much earlier.
Former enemies that somehow found their way to friendship, these Canaries have a great relationship here and, thanks to the brilliant on-screen chemistry between Katie Cassidy and Juliana Harkavy, it's one that could end up becoming the foundation upon which Green Arrow and The Canaries is built.
With that in mind, it would be nice to see the writers continue to build upon that in the spin-off, strengthening their partnership and ultimately allowing it to flourish - something that would, no doubt, allow the show to do the same.
