One of the more intriguing rumours involves Hannibals sexual orientation. Due to his obvious admiration and concern for Will, some viewers have suggested that Hannibal is actually in love with the criminal profiler. Whatever the case, Hannibal is an overtly sensual character, as displayed in his gourmet meals, his luscious surroundings and his very intentional, though not often used, methods of touch. His methods of influence are even more at play in the second season, as he convinces Will to come into his dark world, in a similar way that male serial killers have convinced their female partners to engage in their sadistic empires.
