Hannibal Season 3: 10 Biggest Rumours You Must Hear

4. A New Origin Story

Fuller has established that the origin story for Hannibal will be changed this season. This is kinda necessary - Hannibal was a kid in World War II, but he now looks a little young to be about 80 years old. In the books, his sister is cannibalised by Nazi soldiers in Lithuania, where he grew up. He is fed some of her remains, as well, which doesn€™t sit too well with him. Hannibal later spends some time in an orphanage (aka his family's castle turned into an orphanage) before being adopted by his aunt, Lady Murasaki and his uncle, Robert Lecter. Some elements will remain, but expect a lot of changes to the narrative. Typically Hannibal is a descendant of old, aristocratic European families, which is something that could easily be maintained and actually play into his origin story. Perhaps his sister is a pawn in a political plot for revenge, or maybe he has unknown connections in Italy that will help him in the upcoming season. Whatever the origin story is, however, it will be suspenseful, and no doubt gory.
