Harry Potter TV Show: 13 Changes To The Originals They Should Make

4. Fix Cho Chang

Cho Chang is easily one of the most maligned characters from the books, and for good reason.

She was one hell of a tiresome character and the storyline of her and Harry's relationship was probably one of the weakest subplots from the novels. Furthermore, in retrospect she was quite an A-hole to Harry at times. The films' Cho (Katie Leung) was more likable, but the Order of the Phoenix movie also bungled Harry and Cho by having him cruelly dump her after Umbridge forced her to divulge the location of Dumbledore's Army through truth potion - something that wasn't her fault at all.

Hopefully, the TV show will improve Cho's characterisation and more importantly, finally present a well-written version of her and Harry's relationship. There's definitely potential for a believably awkward and relatable failed teen romance storyline here.

Additionally, it's arguable that the TV show should alter the character's name. Cho Chang isn't actually an authentic Asian name (the character is supposed to be of Chinese origin, but Cho is actually a Korean name), so in the interest of believability, it'd be advisable to rename her.
