HBO's Watchmen TV Show: 8 Reasons To Be Excited

While Lindelof has made a point of stating his series wouldn't be a retelling of what fans read back in the '80s, that doesn't mean he's ignoring Alan Moore's classic. In fact, the original Watchmen, with all of its world-changing events and memorable characters, is entirely canon.

The show will take place in a world several decades after the cataclysmic event involving Ozymandias and the rest of the forever-scarred team (the ones that are still alive, that is). Knowing that the events with Watchmen occurred in the world helps make the idea of an entirely new setting a little less alien. The Watchmen DID exist before, and maybe they will again.
