5. It Isn't Just Another Adaptation
Many fans were curious what Damon Lindelof had planned after confirming his intentions of a reimagined Watchmen series. Was it going to be like Zack Snyder's cinematic interpretation, bringing the iconic characters to life within that 'superheroes dying off' storyline? Perhaps it'd be a sequel that retains certain recognizable faces while removing some others? The final answer ended up being a bit of the latter, but mostly neither.
Rather, this will be a continuation of Moore's novel, further elaborating on the superb foundation already put in place. Instead, fans can experience something new. Stories and characters that channel the spirit and depth of The Comedian and Rorschach in that 'more than what they appear' framework.
Much like the recent Doomsday Clock run that brought the Watchmen and iconic DC heroes together, new stories within this universe can offer so much more than just fan service. New Watchmen content is too promising to resist.
