HBO's Watchmen TV Show: Everything We Know So Far

Okay, maybe take the term 'familiar face' loosely. The fate of Rorschach, aka Walter Kovacs, is well known to anyone who knows Watchmen. And given the intensity of Damon Lindelof's mission statement, it is unlikely that Kovacs would be seen doing anything that deviates from his role in the comics, even if this TV series were to be set simultaneously... Which it most likely isn't.

Conclusion: Somebody else has taken up the inky mask. It's not unheard of. And see the recent DC Doomsday Clock series for reference of this.

But in that brief glimpse, you can pretty much tell that it isn't the definitive Rorschach. The mask appears to have eye-holes cut in them and the jacket is completely dissimilar. Let’s keep in mind that Rorschach was embodied by his aggressive disposition and his drive for justice, whatever the cost. And his pivotal actions in the original story meant that many could have been inspired to take up his mantle afterwards. Rorschach could be a new vigilante. He could even be several new vigilantes.
