Heroes Reborn: 10 Ways To Get The Return Right

2. Have Superhero Fresh Blood

I've already touched upon some of the main heroes. But there is no guarantee at this stage how many actors, if any, will be returning. I think to start completely from scratch would be a mistake...part of the charm of a new limited series is seeing how our favourite characters have fared a number of years down the line. After all, with 24, it's as much about Jack's story as it is about the ticking clock concept. But that being said, after such a long break, Tim Kring has the opportunity to bring something fresh to the show too. Perhaps trim the fat of some of the more mundane characters and create some new and interesting dynamics that will shake up the plot and those returning heroes. Why not give us some fantastic new powers (and a budget to go with it) that will make each episode memorable? Though it isn't just about effects, give us some new characters that we will love, that light up the scene every time they walk into the room. There have been some stunning television performances in recent years on shows like Game Of Thrones and the aforementioned Hannibal. Why not tap into some of that talent for a couple of major roles? In many ways, it can be as much a blank slate as it is a continuation. While reboots of the premise don't usually work between seasons, they certainly can when there is a gap of five years.
