The announcement of Heroes: Reborn comes hot on the heels of the limited series 24: Live Another Day, due to air on Fox in May this year. It's not unusual for shows to be cancelled and then revived, nor is it strange for decades-old series to be rebooted, but these two join the Veronica Mars film as fairly recent hits which have been brought back for a second round. Perhaps this has more to do with the state of drama on Fox and NBC than a new trend in programming, but the prospect of more revivals of recent TV series is tantalising. That's especially true in a case like Heroes, where a lot of potential was squandered with some poor creative decisions. Another sci-fi series, Roswell (cancelled in 2002), comes to mind in that respect, as does Bryan Fuller's own Wonderfalls (2004), but neither is likely to attract the same talent which originally helmed it.
