His Dark Materials: Where You Recognise The Cast From

Andrew Scott is every inch a show stealer, and despite the huge cast overstuffed with stars, he may well do that again. He disappears into his roles and has played a wide array of characters, so he may well be one who catches your eye but who you can't quite place.

He's probably still best known for his role as Moriarty in Sherlock, playing a worthy adversary to Benedict Cumberbatch's Holmes. Given the rather intense fandom of Sherlock fans, it made Scott an icon and the character in quite a lot of fan fiction, running between the mundane, the terrible and the downright creepy.

Scott should not be pigeonholed though. Despite playing a convincingly evil villain, he's been on the opposite side of the goodie/baddie divide just as often.

Most recently as the Hot Priest in Fleabag, where more of his natural charm could shine through. If that's still not it, maybe you've seen him in the Bond movie Spectre? Or Pride? Perhaps it's from Smithereens in the most recent series of Black Mirror?

You're bound to have seen him somewhere, basically.
