His Dark Materials: Where You Recognise The Cast From

Clarke Peters might not be the most recognisable name in the His Dark Materials cast, but even surrounded by stars, he’s had one of the most accomplished careers. If you think you remember him from somewhere, you’re probably right.

First things first, having played Detective Lester Freamon in the The Wire for six years, that’s your best bet. Peters starred in all but one episode of the show, and like most in The Wire, played a terrific part.

More recently, you may have seen him in John Wick, The Tunnel, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri, Jessica Jones or True Detective. Those projects, plus The Wire and His Dark Materials, make it seem like Peters is brilliantly selective with his roles.

If you still don’t remember why you know him though, fear not. It’s probably from Marley & Me or the laughably bad Christmas movie Nativity!, but don’t worry, we won’t tell anyone.
