With Frank in the hospital, we see the main characters reacting to the news of the attempt on his life. Everyone, regardless of how close they are to Frank, is obviously shaken by the news. Everyone except Elizabeth. Not only does she not offer any comforting words to Claire, but she ridicules her daughter for expecting such a gesture. We could see that she hated Frank but now we know, she REALLY hates him. Her lack of sympathy is pretty cold but also highly amusing. And the cherry on top of it all? Elizabeths final words to Claire, I hope he dies. Perfect.
