House Of Cards Season 4: 36 Biggest WTF Moments

29. Frank's Childhood Memories

It€™s always a treat when Frank takes the time to talk directly to us. This scene marks the first time in Season Four that he breaks the fourth wall, and it is immediately jarring. It€™s clear that Frank is feeling cocky after the very public €˜screw you€™ he gave to Claire, and he relishes the opportunity to tell us another of his charming stories that inevitably takes a dark turn in the end. As he makes a peanut butter and jelly sandwich (with not nearly enough jelly) and recounts his memories of forcing his ungrateful neighbor out of family tree, it€™s hard not to imagine a junior Frank Underwood swinging an axe as the boy cries in terror. Frank has likely always been as sadistic as he is now and that€™s not likely to change. He closes his story by saying, €œfor sake, I hope she comes out of her tree before I have to bring out my axe€.
