How DC's Legends Of Tomorrow Became The BEST Arrowverse TV Show
2. It's Way More Imaginative
Few shows are capable of being a western one week, then a situational comedy about keeping college-age Barack Obama safe from a telepathic gorilla. That's the beauty of Legends of Tomorrow in a nutshell; the series doesn't stick to what works for the sake of budgetary constraints and is never too shy to poke fun at itself. This is a show about going on crazy adventures and that adventurous spirit is felt throughout each episode.
Much like DC Universe's excellent Doom Patrol, Legends of Tomorrow looks at its canonical history with a sense of pride, even if most wouldn't. It looks at the source material, with all of its quirks and cheesiness, amongst other things, and embraces it.
In truth, that's the key with adapting many of these more obscure properties: accepting the source material. If the showrunners aren't embarrassed about it, then the audience is far likelier to be on board.
It's doubtful that this show would ever end because it got a little 'too' weird or experimental. The likelier scenario is that as soon as it starts playing it safe - and starts resembling its less-imaginative counterparts - then it will end. Until then though, enjoy the craziness.
