How I Met Your Mother: 10 Shadiest Things Barney Has Ever Done

He has definitely done some bad things, but what were the absolute worst?

Barney Stinson is an extremely suave man of action, using his good looks, charm, and fantastic ability to spin a web of lies to get women into bed. Although he is a bit of a misogynistic ladies man, he is still one of the most popular characters that How I Met Your Mother created.

As much as we love Barney though, we do have to recognize that he did some really terrible things to many different women, a lot of which were featured in the episode, "The Bracket". This episode is all about Barney trying to track down a girl that is warning women of the bad things he has done.

He has not only done terrible things to women however, but he has also done some pretty bad things to some of the people he considers to be friends. In fact, a lot of the things that he did to his friends were some of the worst things he has ever done.

These are just some of the egregious things that Barney Stinson has done, not just to women, but to everyone on the show.

10. Sleeping With Robin

Though Barney consistently talks of the importance of the Bro Code and how you must uphold its many rules, he does not always lead by example. In fact, we see him sleep with his best friend's ex behind his back, a direct violation of the code.

Although this isn't the worst possible thing to do to a friend, the fact that Robin and Ted had dated for an entire year should be enough reason to stay away. In addition, we all knew that Ted was not over Robin, as most of us knew that they would eventually end up together.

This means that Barney had no consideration for the feelings of his best friend, and purposefully did something that would hurt him. Barney has never been an amazingly upstanding guy, but nobody ever thought that he would out rightly try to hurt one of his best friends.

This quickly leads to Ted cutting Barney out of his life for a little while, and rightly so. The pain that Barney caused by acting upon his basic urges is something that cannot be forgiven.
