How I Met Your Mother: 10 Worst Things Robin Ever Did

One thing that Robin is clear on from the outset is that she doesn't want children. That isn't what we'll be holding against her though - in fact it's commendable that someone who knows they feel this strongly about a big life choice would be so open about it. The fact that she doesn't want to go down this route is painted as a big stumbling block for her initial "will they, won't they" interactions with Ted.

Where this decision seems to grate a little on most viewers is when Lily and Marshall are looking to appoint a Godparent to their son, Marvin. Despite the fact that Robin has not only said that she doesn't want children of her own, she specifically states multiple times that she does not even like other people's children.

Again, no issue with someone being honest about something like this. Why then does she fall over herself to try and be appointed Godparent? Why compete against her other friends who are blatantly better suited and have more experience with children?

In the end, Barney, Ted and Robin all share the role but her manic insistence against everything she's said before is another reason to dislike her.
