How I Met Your Mother: 10 Worst Things Robin Ever Did

8. Marshall's Bar

In a move that feels all the more galling because (as we've said already) Marshall is a consistently good person throughout the series, when Robin is feeling down, Marshall shows her a little kindness and she shows her appreciation by ruining it for him.

In season 4, episode 11, Robin begins to feel a homesick. Since she and Marshall both hail from considerably further north than New York, he takes her along to a bar that is themed around Minnesota, which he goes to in secret if he ever misses where he's from.

The Walleye Saloon provides the two of them with a warm welcome, but Marshall ends up regretting his kind gesture as Robin goes out of her way to "outdo" him and make him uncomfortable. She beats the high score he holds on the arcade game, and even repurposes his stories that he's told to gain the affections of the bar patrons.

In the end, a frustrated Marshall ends up telling everyone in the bar that Robin is in fact Canadian and not from Minnesota which instantly sours the atmosphere and the two are no longer welcome.

Robin feels down, a friend helps, she spoils it - the theme continues.
