8. Lyndsy Fonseca - Penny Mosby
Although younger versions of Penny Mosby had also been portrayed by Georgina Bays and Katie Silverman, Lyndsy Fonseca is the name most associated with the character. Alongside brother Luke, who we'll talk about in a moment, Penny is a teenager in 2030 being told the show's story by Ted.
Her last televised appearance on the show came in 2014, with Fonseca staying relatively busy ever since in lesser-known roles. Two somewhat regular roles on Agent Carter as Angie Martinelli and on RePlay as Allison were met with a handful of short films and straight-to-television movies; 2020's You Can't Take My Daughter, 2017's The Haunted, and 2015's Down Dog all have Fonseca's name on them.
Last year also saw Lyndsy star in two episodes of 9-1-1: Lone Star, where she played Iris Blake, whereas a role as Laura in the upcoming series Turner & Hooch (based on the 1989 film of the same name) will see Fonseca star alongside Paul Campbell (as Grady Garland), Reginald VelJohnson (as David Sutton), and Matt Hamilton (as Trent Havelock).
It's a shame, really, that Lyndsy hasn't landed another landmark role since the end of HIMYM. She'll always have the two Kick-Ass films and Hot Tub Time Machine to her name, mind.
