Another two-parter, this one, and one much more effective than Last Forever despite the fact that it really didn't need to be an hour long.

The first half of The Magician's Code deals with Marshall and Barney's attempts to get to Lily before she gives birth, which leads to some classic hysterics given the fact that they're both ludicrously drunk, and ends with the joyous reveal of Marvin Wait-For-It Eriksen (coolest name ever).

The second half lets it down in the rankings with a more convoluted story that leads to Barney proposing to his girlfriend Quinn with a magic trick, but the emotional payoffs from both halves nonetheless compliment each other wonderfully.

Of course, it also ends with a reveal that is bound to elicit a slight gasp on first viewing, as the final scene shows that Barney is getting married to Robin. It's shocking, and leaves you begging to see how the pair possibly ended up at this unfathomable point in both their lives.
