Always suited up and awesome, Barney Stinson was definitely the one who kept How I Met Your Mother more fun.

His presence within the main group is always disruptive, but the moment he is on the scene, the show gets lighter. This egoistic womaniser with a troubled personality and childhood traumas always has a naughty joke, a sarcastic line or a piece of creepy advice ready for his friends.

But as the series moves, he starts showing his soft side by helping his friends out in tough times. In the finale, his monologue holding his newly born daughter shows just how much he has grown over the years. Being the fifth member of the crew, single, cold and mean-spirited, his lines are somehow even more remembered than Ted’s, Robin’s, Marshall’s, and Lily’s.
