12. The Crane Sisters

From the moment the Crane Sisters are introduced to perform the Ceremony of Transference on Davis and Danny, it seems like they must be characters from the comics, right? Well, yes and no.

The trio of a**-kicking tattooists aren't direct screen adaptations, but they do appear to be somewhat loosely inspired by the Crane Daughters, who in the comics were the offspring of the Crane Mother, the ruler of K'un-Zi, one of the Seven Capital Cities of Heaven.

Just as with the Crane Daughters, the Crane Sisters in the show work with Davos to help take Danny down, so the parallels do fit, even if the writers stopped far short of fully committing to a re-imagining of the Daughters.
