Iron Fist Season 2 Review: 5 Ups & 7 Downs

5. The Villains Are An Incredibly Mixed Bag

Iron Fist Season 2
Netflix

Though this season deserves a measure of credit for presenting multi-faceted, morally ambiguous antagonists who (mostly) have easily understood motives, ultimately they don't really do anything we haven't seen before.

We'll keep the details to a minimum, but it won't surprise anyone that Danny's old pal Davos (Sacha Dhawan) is a major thorn in his side this season, and despite Dhawan's intense performance, his grand plan is almost laughably generic "cleanse the world" hooey.

Elsewhere, peripheral villains have more personal motives which eventually sputter out as the writers lose interest, and as is so often the case with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the focus should've been on one tenacious baddie rather than several of wildly varying quality.

The Marvel villain problem persists, it seems.
