Iron Fist Season 2 Review: 5 Ups & 7 Downs

4. The Absurdly Exposition-Heavy Dialogue

Iron Fist Season 2
Netflix

The written word has been problematic across every single Marvel Netflix show, but Iron Fist's already low-effort nature only further draws attention to how horrible its dialogues frequently are.

Rather than characters' motivations and feelings coming through organically by way of action or incident, they routinely just talk about their own or other people's emotional states with a transparency that's really quite embarrassing.

Elsewhere plot and lore is frequently dumped on the audience with a few padded paragraphs of exposition, to the point that you just might start tuning out completely from what's being said.

The actors try their best to make it all seem natural, but considering how robotically written so much of it is, there's precious little they can do.
