Iron Fist Season 2 Review: 5 Ups & 7 Downs
Ups...
5. The Hugely Improved Action Sequences
By far the most-improved aspect of season two is the action sequences. With Scott Buck gone and Black Panther's choreographer Clayton Barber hired to assemble the season's fights, it's safe to say the action is decidedly more cinematic and silky smooth than last time.
There are several memorable, stand-out battles set in unique locations, while the editing focuses less on quick cuts and more on coverage that actually makes sense to the human eye.
The cast was reportedly given far longer to train and practise the set-pieces this year, and it really shows. It's a shame the fights ultimately aren't surrounded by stronger material, but after being basically appalling in season one, this is one area where things have improved immeasurably.
