1. Its Major Creative Gamble Doesn't Pay Off
No spoilers here, but this season makes one significant creative gamble that, though admirable in its bravery, doesn't ultimately seem worth it.
The expected format of the show is actually upended for more than half of its episodes, and while it's impressive that showrunner Raven Metzner didn't just play it safe after the response to the first season, it still doesn't quite add up to a success.
This roll of the dice is sure to have fans initially intrigued but eventually leave them impatient, as it forces audiences to wait a long, long time for the payoff.
Some may appreciate the boldness, but considering the plot development in question has been flirted with in previous Marvel shows, it does feel like more of an extended rehash rather than a genuinely clever innovation.
