It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia Season 12: Ranking Every Episode From Worst To Best

8. PTSDee

Another decent episode with some of the same shortcomings mentioned in the previous two. However, the reason it ranks higher is because while there could have been plenty of more jokes, the ones this episode does have are significantly better.

PTSDee follows the titular character's quest to prove to a male stripper (whose gimmick is that of a soldier) she slept with that she can make his life better and isn't his "rock bottom", as he described her. Meanwhile, Mac and Charlie have become obsessed with a Call of Duty-esque VR game, which somehow results in Mac developing symptoms resembling PTSD.

In comparison to the previous episode, this one intertwined the two respective plots in a much better way, and they result in some rather sardonic comedy, one of Sunny's trademarks. There's something uncomfortably humorous about people with literally no business at a veteran's PTSD support group attending one. Plus, Dee's ulterior masterstroke will appeal to your very worst side.

The episode's weak link, however, is the subplot involving Charlie and Dennis' attempts to get into the stripping game. It isn't particularly funny, it isn't unfunny, it's just sort of there, and you get the sense that some potential humor was thrown out.

This episode featured Sunny's humor at it's twisted, mean-spirited best. Although, there was definitely a noticeable amount of room for a little bit more.
