Up next is the season finale, which just recently aired.

In this episode, Dennis' previously unknown exploits from a previous season have come back to haunt him; as he is revealed to be the father of a woman he met when a flight mix-up landed him in North Dakota. Meanwhile, Charlie has finally managed to convince the Waitress to enter a romantic relationship with him after years of tireless efforts, only to immediately regret it.

While it may not be the funniest episode of Sunny ever, it more than makes up for it by its brilliant use of poetic irony. Moreover, the implications of the episode have the power to turn everything we know about the show on its head, as it seems certain characters are getting ready to grow in ways we've never seen before.

Dennis is finally realizing that he is not exempt from consequence, and Charlie finally realizing his misguided dream only to have it blow up in his face seems to have been a brutally sobering epiphany. And in the midst of all this, the rest of the gang is facing a scarily uncertain future.

It's a great episode, and the only reason it didn't rank higher was because its pacing was very off. It took a little while to get the ball rolling, and as a result the final act felt rushed and the ending was very abrupt. Still, it's a well-executed season finale, and that is definitely worth something.
